TOOTH PAIN CARE IN CHEMBUR WEST

Tooth pain deserves a careful diagnosis

A toothache can come from decay, a crack, a damaged filling, gum inflammation or another cause. At our Chembur West clinic, we examine the problem before recommending treatment.

When to book an assessment

Arrange a dental visit if pain lasts more than two days, returns repeatedly, hurts when you bite, or comes with red gums, a bad taste or swelling. Tell us when the pain started and what makes it better or worse.

Swelling around the eye or neck, or swelling that makes breathing, swallowing or speaking difficult, needs urgent medical attention rather than a routine dental booking.

What happens at your visit

Dr. Snehal Patel will ask about your symptoms and examine the affected tooth, gums and bite. Dental X-rays or other checks may be advised to understand the cause. Pain felt in one area can sometimes come from a different tooth, so a diagnosis matters before choosing a procedure.

You will be told what the examination suggests and which options are appropriate. Treatment might involve a filling, care for sensitivity, protection for a damaged tooth, root canal treatment or another approach. A root canal is not the automatic answer to every toothache.

While you wait

Try softer foods and avoid chewing on the painful side. Very hot, cold or sweet food and drinks may make discomfort worse. A pharmacist can advise on pain relief suitable for you. These steps may ease symptoms temporarily but do not replace an examination.

Common questions

Does tooth pain always mean a root canal?

No. Tooth pain has several possible causes. Root canal treatment is considered when the diagnosis shows infection inside a tooth and the tooth can be saved.

Should I wait for a toothache to go away?

If pain lasts more than two days, is getting worse or comes with swelling or fever, arrange an assessment. Rapidly worsening swelling or difficulty breathing or swallowing needs urgent medical care.
